OVERVIEW

President

VP Activities and Participation

VP Education

Above are the three positions available. All positions are full-time paid positions.

The president and vice-presidents are the people who decide what the students' union will do on your behalf. They make changes that improve your education and overall university experience, through listening and working with all levels at the university. All three persons become a trustee of the students' union. This is a position on the highest decision making committee of the students' union, to ensure that the organisation is being run according to law, regulation, and with your insights.

FAQ

Are the roles paid?

The elected UWLSU President and Vice-Presidents work full-time for one year (up to two if re-elected) and are paid an annual salary of £21,840 plus London weighting.

Who can stand for election?

Any current, registered University of West London student can stand. You can stand for a full-time role regardless of which year of study you're in. If you are in your final year, you will begin the role after your graduation. If you are not in your final year, you will need to take a year out and return to continue your studies afterwards. We would recommend speaking to your programme leader about how this would work.
